I've really been overwhelmed with motherhood lately. Taking care of an almost three year old and an almost one year old is a lot of work! I’ve had times lately when I find it very hard to stay happy and positive.

Prayer has been on my mind a lot lately. For some reason when life gets frustrating, when I need God the most, is when I drift further away and my prayer life (aka my relationship) with God suffers. Instead of focusing on my problems, I like to ignore them. It is hard to pray for help and guidance when I'm trying not to focus on the tough situations I am in!

Recently I went through a trunk of my toys and such from my childhood. One forgotten treasure I found was the book Mr. Bell’s Fixit Shop by Ronne Peltzman.

One of my husband’s favorite things was to get our daughter out of her crib in the morning. Have you ever gotten a little kid out of bed in the morning? They are so super excited to see you and just plain excited for a new day. I’m sure we all wake up every morning so super excited and happy for a new day.

Um...well, most days. Ok, well, maybe sometimes. Wouldn’t it be great to have the enthusiasm of a 1-year-old everyday?

We all know what time-outs are, right? That is where a child is made to sit in the corner after doing some bad. How about a time-in? That is just the opposite.

I'm so thankful that God has blessed us with the Sabbath day (Mark 2:27). God wants us to call the Sabbath a delight.

I just started listening to the recordings of the home office's bi-weekly Bible study  on the Pastoral Epistles. In the introduction to 1 Timothy, the pastor, Steve Myers, pointed out the influence that Timothy's grandmother and mother had on him.
