Has lying become acceptable? A recent poll found that 40% say it’s OK to exaggerate a story to make it more interesting, 30% say it’s OK to lie about being sick to take a day off. Research shows the average person lies three to four times a day.
If all would apply God’s straightforward command: “Don’t lie. . .” (Colossians 3:9Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds;
See All...; Ex 20:16) life would be a whole lot easier, and far better.
Proverbs says (12:19-20) Truth will continue forever, but lies are only for a moment. Those who plan evil are full of lies, but those who plan peace are happy
You cannot afford to compromise. Life works better when you tell the truth.
By the way, that poll also found that 4 in 10 said they never had to lie. But in the very next question, one in 10 of those said that, they might have told a lie in the past week. That can only mean that they either misunderstood the question - or they lied.
