[Gary Petty] We've been recording a Beyond Today program called, "Meet God". And in the program we talk about peoples' encounters with God. You know, Moses had an interesting encounter with God. After many years of thinking he was following God, and God had a great purpose for his life only to end up in a failure, he meets God at a burning. And he asks God, "What is your name?" And God said, "I Am that I Am." Now that may seem like a riddle, but that's an amazing revelation about God.

First of all He's self-conscious. He knows who He is. He is aware. He has thoughts. He has emotions. Also we realize He's not contained in time and space like we are. Moses had a remarkable encounter with God, and the result is he followed God and God did do great things in his life way past the time he thought it was possible.

Are you ready for your encounter with God? Is it time for you to get on your knees, go before the great Creator of the universe, and say, "Father, teach me who You are."

That's BT Daily . Join us next time.

Moses sure did have an interesting encounter with God. He spoke to God who was the fire in the bush(Acts:7:35). God did not appear to Moses in the form of a man - no form of any kind. The people of Israel were warned not to make any image of any shape, whether formed like a man or a woman, or any living creature (Deut. 4:15-18).

So how should we "picture" God?

The Bible has some verses that described the Son of Man ...Revelation:1:12-15 "Then I turned to see the voice that was speaking to me, and on turning I saw seven golden lampstands, and in the midst of the lampstands one like a son of man, clothed with a long robe and with a golden sash around his chest. The hairs of his head were white, like white wool, like snow. His eyes were like a flame of fire, his feet were like burnished bronze, refined in a furnace, and his voice was like the roar of many waters" (ESV).

We picture God our Father as a loving, devoted, merciful, patient, longsuffering,Almighty God.

We see His works around us each day. His perfect of beauty by the way He made each living breathing thing as well as rocks and soforth. He is totally amazing. When we study His creation through science and soforth it is totally awesome.

Rev. 1: 12-15 is a wonderful and vivid description of the glorified Jesus Christ. But, do we think on God, the Father,as sitting up in heaven and looking also like a human being?
