We believe that unless we are reaching for some distant vague "something" we are not making progress. There is a difference in pursuing an idea that has some basis in fact and dreams that waft through our minds like a vapor. Children ask a lot of "why?" questions, and adults often have no answer. Adults ask a lot of "why not?" questions and run to find an answer. Then there are those who do not have time to chase rainbows and simply have to go to work.

God supports the work ethic. He works (John 5:17). Paul expected people to work (1 Thessalonians 4:11). God is not against dreams, and some of His work includes giving dreams (Genesis 37:5-9). We must have a dream of that which is vague, but chasing that dream must not stand in the way of work—it complements that work and gives it meaning. We work toward that dream and hope as Paul wrote (Philippians 3:11-14). The dream God offers is built upon Christ and His work.
