We all have made mistakes. Sometimes through carelessness; sometimes because we are tired; sometimes because we refuse to think. The righteous man may fall seven times, we are told (Proverbs 24:16). But you cannot fall the second time unless you have once again regained your feet. We are to learn lessons from our falls. We admit and regret the mistake and learn from it. God calls that repentance. All of this is normal as we grow and develop.

There are some who refuse to admit their errors and refuse to repent or learn. They continue to commit the same mistakes. To persist in error is devilish—it is not what a godly person should do. Refusing to hear instruction and be wise earns the fruits of evil in our lives. Persisting in error leaves others no choice but to leave you. Be quick to admit an error and move to correct it. Then all will know that you are a wise human.
