“Infidelity, cheating, is the easiest, dumbest thing you can do,” wrote Joy Browne. When humans have their wits about them and their eyes open, they can discern the evil of living an immoral life. Infidelity is the dumbest thing because we are hurting ourselves. Those who engage in these practices often do not realize the inner change that is happening in their mind.

They are like an ox led to the slaughter or one with an unexpected arrow in his liver (Proverbs 7:21-24). No person in their right mind would pick up a hammer and intentionally bang himself in the head with it. Infidelity and cheating are hammers that do far worse damage. This damage lasts a lifetime and may cost a person their eternal life. It is not worth it.
