If you’re feeling uptight, you are not alone. According to a 2004 survey from the American Psychological Association, 54 percent of Americans are concerned about the level of stress in their everyday lives.

Stress itself is not a bad thing. However, long-term stress can make us feel anxious, exhausted, frustrated and distracted.

To help lower stress:
• Learn to ask for help.
• Develop a social support system.
• Meditate—have quiet time to pray.
• Exercise.
