We move about, change jobs and locations often, and leave old friends behind all too often. Robbie Burns wrote about old acquaintances and strongly stated that we ought to remember them. They are trusted friends who ought to be brought to mind frequently.

The Bible advises that we should never forsake our own friend or a friend of our father's (Proverbs 27:10). Our father's friends would be old acquaintances, and their trusted value is proven. Remembering them with a phone call or a visit does a great deal to keep the flame of friendship strong. Old acquaintances should not be forgotten. They are a treasure in life.
