Some have chosen not to tell a lie, and they may have lost their job for it. Some have chosen to be kind, merciful and helpful, but find they are betrayed. Some have stopped to help a stranger, but found a thief or murderer instead. Some have given financial help only to find that there was no repayment. Making the right choice can be hazardous.

Jesus and His disciples chose to obey God and died for their choice. Jonah chose to obey God, but only after being prodded. Even then he regretted what he ended up doing (Jonah 4:1-4). Jesus said we were to make the choice to resist sin—even if it cost us our blood (Hebrews 12:4). Right choices are important, but timing and the use of wisdom cannot be set aside. Think carefully, but always make the right choice. There are worse things than dying.

Great thoughts and admonitions! Living God's way is not always easy. It is, in fact, usually a difficult path but the only path that leads to the Kingdom of God.
