One of the greatest joys we can have is being a parent and working to help make that new, young life into something wonderful. Children are open to the teaching and example of Mom and Dad more than anyone else on earth. It takes a great and lasting love for parents to work for decades to produce a balanced adult and to pass on lessons they have learned from their own parents.

Perhaps you've heard the old saying: "Whatever we write on the hearts of our children is not erased by time." The Bible says it this way: "Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it" (Proverbs 22:6). Use the ability to write on a growing heart with care.
