In our western culture we place a high value on life, and it disturbs us when we hear of senseless human death. So it seems particularly shocking when we hear of teenagers who choose to take their own lives.

As we come down to the final hours before the nation plunges over the “fiscal cliff” we see a Congress frozen in gridlock. They’re apparently unable to respond to the looming fiscal crisis set to occur with the start of 2013.

With all respect I agree with BaaronW. I will add that it is too late to pray for the deceased ones as Our Father's Word teaches. It is always good to be thankful of course.
