I've really been overwhelmed with motherhood lately. Taking care of an almost three year old and an almost one year old is a lot of work! I’ve had times lately when I find it very hard to stay happy and positive.

Prayer has been on my mind a lot lately. For some reason when life gets frustrating, when I need God the most, is when I drift further away and my prayer life (aka my relationship) with God suffers. Instead of focusing on my problems, I like to ignore them. It is hard to pray for help and guidance when I'm trying not to focus on the tough situations I am in!

Recently I went through a trunk of my toys and such from my childhood. One forgotten treasure I found was the book Mr. Bell’s Fixit Shop by Ronne Peltzman.

One of my husband’s favorite things was to get our daughter out of her crib in the morning. Have you ever gotten a little kid out of bed in the morning? They are so super excited to see you and just plain excited for a new day. I’m sure we all wake up every morning so super excited and happy for a new day.

Um...well, most days. Ok, well, maybe sometimes. Wouldn’t it be great to have the enthusiasm of a 1-year-old everyday?

We all know what time-outs are, right? That is where a child is made to sit in the corner after doing some bad. How about a time-in? That is just the opposite.

I'm so thankful that God has blessed us with the Sabbath day (Mark 2:27). God wants us to call the Sabbath a delight.

I just started listening to the recordings of the home office's bi-weekly Bible study  on the Pastoral Epistles. In the introduction to 1 Timothy, the pastor, Steve Myers, pointed out the influence that Timothy's grandmother and mother had on him.

Thanks Sherrie..You are of course totally right.. The decisions of life must be made by a mind that has (to use a computer analogy) downloaded the Bible. God's law is the roadmap to true happyness. It is my prayer that my mind would be changed to be more like God's with everyday.

Every pro homosexual I've ever heard talk only speaks against the Old Testament. It's as if they don't know that the practice is prohibited all over the Bible. One guy said that if we were to obey the law in Leviticus, should be stone people too. He said this of course to try to demean the words written in...

It is one thing to cut off unnecessary spending. It would be nice to follow "save first before spending the rest" principle but if what you have is enough for the needs then the situation is more apt to teach about faith. Live for the day, God will take care of tomorrow. :)

The challenges (the pruning scissors) we face are actually opportunities for us to grow. Without facing them, how else can we or God know that we are done with such phase/trial? We only reach second grade if we passed the test of the first grade. Imagine if the teacher would not want to give the test...it is like saying,...

What you have actually undergone is yet an addition to your whole being which makes you accountable to Him, what you will do with what opportunity you have been given, to be of use to others, to be able to be of help to others, one way or another, for what purpose He finds to make His will be done. Yes, it is just the start...
