Four Horsemen of Revelation Come to Life on Beyond Today!

The four horsemen of the apocalypse were on fearsome display Tuesday night, July 30, as a handful of the United Church of God’s media crew gathered at a local member's ranch on the west side of Cincinnati to recreate the dramatic vision that the apostle John recorded in Revelation:6:1-8. The video shoot, which was in the works for several months, was for an upcoming Beyond Today program about the four horsemen, scheduled to air in September and hosted by Darris McNeely.

James Myers, who is a competitive horse reiner (an advanced form of Western style riding), portrayed the horsemen, changing costume for each rider. On the production crew were video production associate Rudy Rangel who handled lighting, Jonathan Magee who handled costumes and make-up and Jamie Schreiber and Clint Porter who recorded and directed. Senior web developer Tom Disher assisted in lighting and operated the fog machine, and United News managing editor Mitchell Moss photographed. James’ father and local pastor Steve Myers and his wife Kathe, as well as James’ wife Jacqueline helped handle the horses.

The shoot was a huge success. Although a large storm system was moving toward Cincinnati from the west, no rain fell on the shoot and the weather was cool and calm. Three of the horses belonged to the Myers, and one was borrowed from a neighbor of the Wayne’s.

Look for the program to air the week of September 1, 2013.

I get the point, but even PRETENDING to be what the Four Horsemen represents seems like an un-good idea for a Christian. Production values shouldn't be so important that we ignore, model, cleave to what God values. These could have as easily been drawn as portraryed by a church member.

Awesome! So when do think these riders will come? Maybe the rides have already started? What should we be doing now?

Whenever they start riding, the only thing that can really help you be prepared is to be close to God and have a strong relationship with Him already. He is all that can save you; physical preparations are all fine and good, but even those can be stolen, destroyed, or you could even be killed. God alone can save you, so we should use the prophecies of the end time as a motivation to get close to God now—not later.

I agree Mitchell Moss; we definitely need to have a strong personal relationship with God because I believe we are now living in the End-time (time of sorrows).

The Four Horsemen represent trends.... not actual horses and men.

Hi Mitchell,

So looking forward to seeing this work soon. Just want to express my gratitude for all the hard work everyone involved has done on this production. How utterly exciting to be part of it! Keep up the good work as many, many people appreciate it.

Yes everyone the time is now. If we are not getting close to our Father NOW then you have left it too late. Don't wait even for next week to come as that means you have let a whole week go by with many missed opportunities. Even one day is too much time to waste without being focused and diligent. You just need to work out a plan and stick to it. If you can't structure a good plan maybe see your Pastor or someone in your congregation who always seems organised and you look up to. Then have a go and don't forget to run it by our Father who will show you how to fine tune the plan so that you can get even more out of it. It is so much fun but it just takes that first step to do it.

All I know without my plan I would not be able to achieve as much. There are people out there amongst you in your congregations who love to structure plans to incorporate what would work best for you considering working hours, study time at school, time with the family, personal time, and necessity time for all the activities of daily living. All the very best at making time work for YOU.
