When it comes to everyday life, time is the one thing we can’t hold on to. It’s as if all possibility to truly appreciate the blessings of life that surround us remain bound to the disappearing element of time. Although our physical time is short, God does give us the opportunity to best appreciate our time by growing in our relationship with Him, walking in His way of love and sharing our uniqueness with the world.

The most valuable relationship we can have is with our Creator. Knowing who God is, what He promises and what He is accomplishing helps us to understand who we are, the purpose of our existence and the direction we should take. By spending a large quantity of quality time with our Creator, our love for God and security in His love becomes sure and fulfilling. We can truly appreciate the time we are given on this earth by recognizing and thanking the source of our given life and future, the Eternal.

Learning about God’s divine nature also defines where God stands and how life should be lived to the fullest. In Psalm 111:10, the Bible says, “The fear [deep respect] of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom; a good understanding have all those who do His commandments; His praise endures forever.” When we follow God’s loving way of life and grow in His divine mercy, we begin to have the wisdom and understanding of what we should spend our precious time with in this physical walk of life.

As children of God who love and strive to walk in all of His ways, we are daily becoming a new and unique creation. Mankind desperately needs a hope for their lost relationship with God and the true way of love that He defines. God has chosenus to be that light. He gives us the opportunity to daily radiate His love and share with the world the wonderful uniqueness of His way. If we spend our time giving the love and joy that comes from God in our lives to others, we will feel our appreciation for the true God.

Although time seems to pass us by, remember that we can have a deep appreciation for the blessings of life that God gives us each day—knowing the true God, having the joys of living in His way of love and being able to share that love with the rest of the world.
