"These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off were assured of them, embraced them and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth. For those who say such things declare plainly that they seek a homeland. And truly if they had called to mind that country from which they had come out, they would have had opportunity to return. But now they desire a better, that is, a heavenly country. Therefore God is not ashamed to be called their God, for He has prepared a city for them" (Hebrews 11:13-16).

God has made certain promises to people who follow His instructions. One of those promises is residence in the Kingdom of God. Like our brothers and sisters whose stories we read in the Bible, we can only imagine what that Kingdom might be like and keep our eyes focused on that eternal prize. Do we welcome the Kingdom of God? Do we realize that the reason we do not fit in with the world is that we were not created for our lives to end here on earth? The earth and everything that is part of the earth is temporary! Our destination is the Kingdom of God! If we truly believe that and are focused on Destination: KoG, then our actions, while on earth, will prove that. It will show we are searching for something much better and we will find it. But the enemy will want us to keep in mind where we came from and from what we came out of, like ancient Israel, thinking that maybe slavery in Egypt wasn't so bad. Those who think that way might unfortunately find their way back. We have to be on guard that these thoughts do not come and settle in our minds. We are searching for a new country, and one brought from heaven! And to those who find it, God will not be ashamed to be called their God. He sure does have a great Kingdom prepared for us.
