What we spend our time thinking and dwelling on is a big indicator of who we are as a person. The Bible provides an excellent framework for deciding what to spend our meditation time on—and what to avoid.
This will be my 38th year of keeping the spring holy days. And every year, all of the holy days are just as exciting as they were when I first learned about them.
There is a lot to do in preparation for the spring holy days. Shortly before sunset, on my first Passover, I opened my cabinet, took out the baking powder, the baking soda, and a partial loaf of bread. I said a prayer and then took that small bag outside and threw it in a dumpster.
I came across this fantastic aerial photo of the Nile delta. Everything that is not in close proximity to the Nile and it’s flowing waters, appears to be a desert wasteland. The greenery is glowing like a beacon in this satellite photo. What a contrast from the sand dunes that surround the rich vegetation near the river.
Motivation has always felt like a mysterious force I can’t change.
I’m sure most people are familiar with the Michael Jackson song “Man in the Mirror.” The song is about making the world a better place by each person looking at his or herself in the mirror and making a change. That’s exactly what I want to do with this blog. Not write about my innermost sins, but take the parts of my life I want to improve and use God’s Word and other resources to make a change.
