God gave humankind the Ten Commandments (Exodus 20; Deuteronomy 5) so we can learn to honor Him, to let Him guide our lives. Jesus Christ summarized the Ten Commandments in the Gospels: First, love God with all of your heart and mind. Second, love your neighbor as you love yourself (Matthew 22:37-39 [37] Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
[38] This is the first and great commandment.
[39] And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
See All...). These two great commandments sum up the first four commandments and the last six respectively.
Although these laws rankles human nature (Romans 8:7Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.
See All...), God is not a God of suggestion but of commandment. If you'd like to learn more, request your free copy of our booklet The Ten Commandments .
