Unleavened Bread

April 23-29, 2024

"Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, nor with the leaven of malice and wickedness, but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth" (1 Corinthians 5:8).

These seven days of self-examination during the Feast of Unleavened Bread prove invaluable in helping us to devote our lives to God and Jesus Christ. They also also picture our eventual triumph over sin, made possible through the sacrifice and aid of Jesus Christ.

Pride puffs us up. That is a vital lesson of leavening that we are all familiar with. We talk about people having a big head, thinking they are big stuff. Vanity and arrogance truly are dangerous to our spiritual health. They can lead us to cut ourselves off from God, leading to spiritual death!

The NTBMO is a rather cryptic anagram that would be hard to understand for someone not attending God's Church. Affectionately known as the Night to Be Much Observed, this yearly observance is always celebrated on the beginning of the First Day of Unleavened Bread.

Jesus observed the Passover, the Feast of Tabernacles and the other festivals that God gave to Israel. Should you follow His example? Are those sacred festivals still applicable for Christians?

Thousand of years ago, God commanded the nation of Israel to observe a series of festivals throughout the year. Far from being obsolete or a relic of bygone days, these days are rich in meaning for mankind today. Why? They reveal the very plan and purpose of God!
