Rayski, if y read my post, never did I say that we weren't supposed to dress modestly, we should, but to say the bible says to wear ankle length skirts and turtle necks is not accurate. We should be modest, and I believe tht means being reasonably covered. My post was mostly directed toward the idea of "sloppiness" and understanding the culture you are in, as well as being willing to walk in someone else shoes before judging them.
Thanks Sherrie..You are of course totally right.. The decisions of life must be made by a mind that has (to use a computer analogy) downloaded the Bible. God's law is the roadmap to true happyness. It is my prayer that my mind would be changed to be more like God's with everyday.
Every pro homosexual I've ever heard talk only speaks against the Old Testament. It's as if they don't know that the practice is prohibited all over the Bible. One guy said that if we were to obey the law in Leviticus, should be stone people too. He said this of course to try to demean the words written in Leviticus and to make out like that's the only place in the Bible that condemns it.
Yes sir, the world is turning pro gay out there and if you don't agree with it then you're accused of "hate". But one day it'll be put right by God Himself. Thanks
Hello again Keith,
Let's see if I can answer you.
Rev 20: 5 says "the rest of the dead did not live again until the 1000 years were finished." Who are "the rest of the dead"?
Verse 4 has just told us that some people "beheaded for their witness to Jesus and for the word of God, who had not worshipped the beast or his image..." will live & reign with Christ for a 1000 years. These are the First Fruits.
The "rest of the dead" are whom?
The possibilities as I see them are:
They are not good people & they are ultimately tossed in the Lake of Fire. (Rev 20: 15)
The 2nd possibility is, they are just ordinary people who lived their lives & died without ever being offered a chance by God to understand the TRUTH. They never were given a first chance and now ----- at the end of the thousand years they are being resurrected to physical life to be taught and given their very FIRST chance.
Several scriptures state the need for enduring faith and righteous living but unless a person actually is Given the understanding of what life is all about, there is a gulf that exists between living a good human life and living a truly Godly life.
God has built in rewards & punishments for living a good human life but God will not pass final judgement on a person's eternal life (or death) unless that person has really understood the Rules & how they work.
Read God's Holy Day Plan, The Promise of Hope for All Mankind, especially P. 44 to 57. Then let's talk again.
I thought it was a good article. Here's the authors reason as to why "we all" celebrate this feast still today:
"And because of what God intends for us to learn from His festivals, they are still to be celebrated by God's people today."
Often times I try to explain to some people why "doing" is better than just reading or knowing.
I just love the festivals.
But under the heading:
"What about "the rest of the dead"?
He talks about after the millenium where he says this:
"The rest of the dead (Revelation 20:5, Revelation 20:12) will be resurrected after the 1,000 years are over. This also takes place in a world in which Satan has no influence, having been removed for good."
So is Satan removed for good? I thought he must be released yet for a little while. How can those who never had a chance, get a real chance if Satan is not allowed to try to influence them?
I don't think Satan has been removed for good at this time as the author states. I think he is released for a little while. But then after that "little while" , however long that is, Satan will be removed forever. That's what I read. Thanks
I just loved this little posting. It's soooo true. I agree that there are some grey areas sometimes. Maybe that's why God looks at the heart and intent so much. I think we should do what we can to eliminate grey areas and not just go on blind. So we continue to ask questions and read/study and not accept just any ole answers but instead make them stand up to plain scriptures. But untill we know for sure, some grey areas will be there. Thank God for his mercy and judgement.
My Bible doesn't say abstain from "foods". It says meats. It says Forbidding to marry and commanding to abstain from meats is speaking lies in hypocrisy. Now, it's talking about meats as food here, and then it says every creature of God is to be recieved with thanksgiving. There are several scriptures that explain how what we eat does NOT defile us. Why is it so hard to understand all of this? This verse in 1 Tim 4:6 is pretty clear in my KJV Bible. And it's only one such piece of scripture. Darris jumping on there and saying the same thing Steve says doesn't change what the Bible says does it? I guess I just don't get the unwillingness to be plain here. Sorry folks, this blog didn't make me see something that just isn't there. However, I will say that you're not hurting yourself to abstain from pork, beef, chicken or whatever. Don't be legalistic, just follow God.
I'm just reading what it says Ivan. I don't see where we're told of a starting point here. There are many uses for terms clean & unclean. When we're talking about food, the Bible says that Gentiles abstain from blood and things strangled. Israelites abstain from uncleans animals thruout their generations. There might be some ways to "get around" applying unclean animals for food to non Israelites decendant peoples but maybe we should look at the clear words. I realize that I can't be agreed with because of British Israelism doctrine and that's okay. I just follow what God says.
yeah i'm having a problem with the viewing/listening to these blogs as well as other stuff....u have to oopen link and watch thru utube but i don't think that's normal.
When i bought our KJV Bible, we (hubby and I) made sure it was wide margin and large print. None of that sort was available locally so we resorted to the internet and had 2 delivered. It was for the purpose of writing notes. I underline, highlight, make notes and references. I also make a "string" of verses and start with the topic and the first verse noted at the back. For example the Passover ceremony, I put "Passover" and wrote the first verse next to it. At the end of the verse I write a right arrow then the next verse. Whatever the end of the verse, or series of verses, is, I write another right arrow and the next verse...etc. With other topics, like the Fundamental Beliefs, I write the "coming from" verse with the left arrow (<--) and the "going to" verse with the right arrow (-->) but I also have the general code of the topic beforehand like "FB1" to mean Fundamental Belief #1. At the back of the Bible I have the first verse noted next to the general code.
It is one thing to cut off unnecessary spending. It would be nice to follow "save first before spending the rest" principle but if what you have is enough for the needs then the situation is more apt to teach about faith. Live for the day, God will take care of tomorrow. :)
The challenges (the pruning scissors) we face are actually opportunities for us to grow. Without facing them, how else can we or God know that we are done with such phase/trial? We only reach second grade if we passed the test of the first grade. Imagine if the teacher would not want to give the test...it is like saying, "I don't want to see you grow."
What you have actually undergone is yet an addition to your whole being which makes you accountable to Him, what you will do with what opportunity you have been given, to be of use to others, to be able to be of help to others, one way or another, for what purpose He finds to make His will be done. Yes, it is just the start. :) For sure many hurdles will still come your way but you just have to be aware that you are equipped. Don't panic and you will be just fine. :) I would love to be at ABC. :)
i just want to say that this article is an eye opener, though the end of the age is not predictable by man. Christ has given us the pointers of the end of the age and when we see this things happen we can say that the end is at hand.
The peace with beloved church of God!
It's sad to see the confusion that is in Babylon (world religion), there are religions that hold the first day, other intensivam their prayers on Friday, and some groups hold weekly Saturday the seventh day.
More a question we do Guando blind blind (innocent people) who just want to follow wolves tosquearem the sheep!)
I follow from small segments Sabbatarians, and wondered, why do half as Sunday best!
Today I am happy to see that there is a church of God beyond the seventh day, he walks "on track" the husbands of Yahweh, as the United observe all that God commands me to forgive you read Jesus said to the great rabonni pisares a point the law that says the retante, then there is no law mmoral and ceremonial law is the law, the only thing that remains sacrficíos more ...
Bendio is the weekly Sabbath and the festivals of Yahweh, happy Pentecost!
I would like to take a try at the "First Fruits" question. In Revelation, it states there is a special gift for those who understand it. I think there is no time in history you could have actually understood it until now, much like in Daniel where it says the book is shut up until the end. I think being a "First Fruit" is the gift you will recieve for understanding it, and by making the sacrifice that is required of that understanding. In simple terms, to stand against and resist satan when he is on earth. Through history, men have spoke of Satan, but they have not been personally "tempted" by him. Sure we are all tempted by his spirit, but only Christ has succeeded in actually resisting him in the flesh. When the Bible tells us, that satan showed Christ the kingdoms of the world, I believe that's literally what happen, I see no reason to "spiritualize" it. When satan arrives on earth, as stated he will in Rev.12:7-9, which I also don't spiritualize, we will face the same temptation as did our Lord. That's different than for example, my parents faced in life. I think that it is reflected in Rev.20:3-7. It says in Vs.4 some particular requirements there, having given their life for the witness, or the word, and not excepting satan's mark. You may wish to expand this, I'm sure most will, but it doesn't say that. And it also adds a new parameter, that they would live and reign with our Christ. What does that mean, I think when you move down to Vs.5, what it is telling you is that all who have not faced the three criteria mentioned above, while now in spiritual bodies, are still mortal. By mortal, simply meaning that they could die. I am not implying that aunt Rose, having lived an exemplary christian life is going to hell, what I am implying is that she as well as all, will be judged at the Great White Throne Judgement. Note in Vs.7 at where it says satan will be loosen again for a short while, one again reiterating Vs.3. What I think it is saying, is all will be tempted by satan. I don't think there is a "free" pass. God is no respecter of person. Why should just those at the end be subject to satan's temptation, truthfully I believe it's not the case. In Vs.6, it says those that are blessed & holy, as outlined in Vs.4 parameters, are free from the worry of losing their spiritual bodies, they have made it, they have recieved the gift promised in Revelation!
That's a good way to tell that part of the story of the Bible to children, KARS.
Ruth and i are currently working on the next Chapter of Grandad and Nanna's Bible Story, so we will keep in mind what you have written here, with a view to making our next Chapter useful and easy to understand, for young children to read or for parents or grandparents to read to their children.
Sometimes I get so tired of dealing with this culture and it's negative anti family environment , I think of joining an Amish community..community is important
There are many of us who did not have a chance to "grow up" when we were children. Some of us were fortunate in that we were led by God, in spite of our environment, and that we listened. But most of us are not so lucky. Many of us have never learned of God, so we just survive. This leads to much of the violence in the world today. A lot of our young people today have had nothing but abuse, drugs, neglect and violence, and have never heard of God. Then the parents wonder why they stay in trouble with the law.
I pray every day for these children who have no one to protect and guide them. It seems that our laws do nothing to help them when they are young, them expect them to respect the laws later.
I thank God that He has the answers and will soon fix all of our injustices.
Thanks for your comments Skip. However I read nothing in the scripture concerning 2nd or 3rd fruits. Keep in mind that in the days of Noah, only 8 people were saved. (I Peter 3:20) Jesus said in Matthew 7:13,14 "Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth ti destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.
The world has been given it's one chance that is Jesus Christ, he is the door and there is no other door. Since the time that Jesus walked the earth we have been in the last days. That is why John the baptist came preaching, (Luke 3:9) The axe is laid unto the root of the trees, every tree not bringing forth good fruit is cut down and cast into the fire.
Remember also the parable of the wise and the foolish virgins. They that were ready went in, those that were not ready, were shut out and could not get in even after they came back to knock on the door.
God dose not put people in hell, hell was created for the devil and his angels, man enters as an intruder. However we put ourselves there but ignoring Christ. Sorry to say heaven will not be crowded, but hell already is!
Thank you for your comment. I have done it also and I was not intending to take God's name in vain. What we must do is ask God for help is getting all the words out of our vocabulary that are too easy to repeat.
This is surely one of the "spirit of the law" things we must be aware of.
Satan the Advesary hates our LORD. Why? Because Satan lost the kingdom. Jesus past the test while being starved for 40 days and 40 nights. Now won't that make you very mad?
And since Satan was very angry, he sure wasn't using his head. How can anyone in their right mind think for one moment that they can destroy their own creator that made them? Talk about insanity.
So, MRrDurango. When the Son of Perdition (who was prophecied to come from the O.T.) was chosen; Satan enter into his heart and mind. This man named Judas Iscarot sold Jesus Christ for 30 pieces of sliver, then hung himself.
That is the truth of the matter. It was Satan in his insanity trying vainly destroy his creator.
So who in the end will have the last laugh Mr. Durango?
