2015 Feast of Tabernacles Report

Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin, United State

More than 700 members of God’s family gathered to be instructed, to worship Him with song and to grow closer in fellowship and activities in the Wisconsin Dells this year! The weather was unseasonably warm at the beginning of the Feast, but was pleasant all week with the fall colors erupting toward the end of the Feast. Many deaf brethren gathered with us in the Dells, and their presence really added to the family environment.

Wisconsin Dells is known for the extra musical element. In addition to a choir, there was an orchestra. A variety of music was presented during the week—an octet, a trio by the Myers brothers, orchestra and choir selections as well as the inspiring hymns sung by the members! On Sabbath evening the Myers brothers gave a benefit concert for Good Works, raising more than $3,500.

In addition to the full complement of messages during services, this year the schedule included two general Bible studies, two teen/young adult Bible studies and two homework sessions. The family dinner and dance was a big hit again. This evening combines a meal to honor the seniors (joined by families), which transitions into the family dance. This year there was a puzzle table, face painting, a craft table as well as an “extreme” photo booth.

High attendance was 744 on the first Holy Day with the average attendance for the week staying in the 600s. Attendees were able to sign large cards for those members who could not make it to the Feast—a tradition that those who could not be at the Feast truly appreciate. The whole week was peaceful, harmonious and service-oriented, which only added to the meaning of the festival.

I would encourage you to join us next year in the Dells for the Feast of Tabernacles!
