27 Invited to Seventh Leadership Workshop

Ministerial Services has invited 14 men and their wives from congregations around the United States to the seventh Leadership Workshop.

The seminar will run Aug. 28 to Sept. 1 (Labor Day weekend) at the home office in Milford, Ohio.

The invitees are: Steve and Amy Allwine, St. Paul, Minnesota; Dan and Valerie Deininger, Whitehall, Montana; Michael and Sarah Greider, Columbia, Maryland; Dave Johnson, Fort Worth, Texas; Cody and Bobbi Kitts, Cincinnati East, Ohio; Dave and Rita Pennington, Louisville, Kentucky; Daniel and Linda Porteous, Olympia, Washington; Jerry and Tammy Rehor, Louisville, Kentucky; Barry and Donna Richey, Fort Worth, Texas; Joe and Janine Sanchez, Stockton, California; Craig and Linda Scott, Raleigh, North Carolina; Mark and Kristine Vincen, Indianapolis, Indiana; Paul and Coreen Wasilkoff, Cincinnati East, Ohio; and David and Terry Pavlik, Akron, Ohio.

There will be five days of classes covering topics such as: teaching as we have been taught; relevancy in speaking; developing sermonettes, split sermons and sermons; working with your pastor; history and overview of UCG's governing documents; the importance of sound doctrine; appreciating differences—understanding yourself and others; a women's section on how to be all things to all people without losing yourself; Church ceremonies; the heart of a servant; developing wisdom and judgment; working with the next generation; preparing effective messages: the importance of discernment; and answering doctrinal hot topics.
