Ingredients

2⁄3Cupbarley
1 1⁄2Poundground beef
1 medium onion (chopped)
1Clovegarlic (minced)
4 carrots (sliced)
3 ribs of celery (diced)
2Cupwater
3Canbeef consomme
1Cantomatoes (28 oz.)
1Cantomato soup (10 3/4 oz.)
1 bay leaf
1⁄4Cupparsley
  salt to taste

Instructions

Brown meat and drain off fat. Add onion and garlic, cook until tender. Ad the rest of the ingredients. Cover, bring to a boil then reduce heat. Simmer 50-60 minutes, stirring occasionally. Add water if too thick.
