A sweet spin on your morning breakfast cereal...simple and fun to make with your kids :)

| 9 | Ounce | butter (or margarine) |
| 4 | Cup | chopped dates |
| 2 | eggs (beaten) | |
| 1 1⁄2 | Cup | sugar |
| 6 | Cup | Rice Krispies |
| 2 | Cup | coconut |
| 1 | Teaspoon | vanilla |
Bring butter and sugar to a boil over low heat. Add chopped dates. Cook until dates are soft; add beaten eggs; cook until mixture thickens. Remove from stove; cool slightly; add rice krispies. Sprinkle baking tray with coconut; press mixture into baking tray; sprinkle with coconut. Put into fridge to ser; cut into slices; roll in coconut.
When cooking pancakes, grease the griddle for the first one. Then, try rubbing a raw potato over the hot griddle instead of greasing. THe cakes will brown nicely and there will be no smoke.
