Ingredients

1 1⁄2Cupshortening
2Cupbrown sugar
1⁄2Cupmolasses
2 eggs
4Cupflour
4Teaspoonbaking soda
1⁄2Teaspoonsalt
1Teaspooncloves
2Teaspooncinnamon
2Teaspoonginger

Instructions

Cream shortening and brown sugar. Add molasses and eggs. Sift flour, soda, salt, cloves, cinnamon, and ginger and add to molasses mixture. Form into balls and press with sugared glass. Bake at 375° for 10 minutes.
