| 1 | Can | whole kernal corn |
| 1 | Can | tomatoes |
| 1 | Can | English peas |
| 3 | potatoes | |
| 3 | carrots | |
| 1⁄3 | Cup | rice |
| 1⁄2 | Cup | lemon juice |
| salt and coarsely ground pepper |
Boil chicken until done. Remove meat from bones and cut into pieces. Skim grease from stock and discard. Add all ingredients except English peas to a large covered pot and cook until carrots are just done, then add English peas.
