| 1 1⁄2 | Pound | hamburger |
| 1⁄2 | Cup | onion (chopped) |
| 1⁄2 | Teaspoon | garlic salt |
| 1 | Can | stewed tomatoes |
| 1 | Package | taco seasoning |
| 8 | Ounce | medium noodles |
| 1 | Carton | sour cream (16 ounces) |
| 1 | Carton | cottage cheese (16 ounces) |
| 2 | Cup | cheddar cheese (shredded) |
Preheat oven to 350º. Brown meat and onion; drain. Add garlic salt, taco seasoning, and tomatoes. Simmer while noodles cook. Drain noodles. Mix together the noodles, sour cream, and cottage cheese. In a 2-quart casserole dish, layer the noodle mixture, then meat sauce, and then cheddar cheese, repeat layering. Bake until cheese is melted and bubbly. Serve 6-8.
Variation – Can use tortilla chips or hard taco shells instead of noodles. Omit sour cream and cottage cheese if desired.
