Ingredients

1 1⁄2Poundhamburger
1⁄2Cuponion (chopped)
1⁄2Teaspoongarlic salt
1Canstewed tomatoes
1Packagetaco seasoning
8Ouncemedium noodles
1Cartonsour cream (16 ounces)
1Cartoncottage cheese (16 ounces)
2Cupcheddar cheese (shredded)

Instructions

Preheat oven to 350º. Brown meat and onion; drain. Add garlic salt, taco seasoning, and tomatoes. Simmer while noodles cook. Drain noodles. Mix together the noodles, sour cream, and cottage cheese. In a 2-quart casserole dish, layer the noodle mixture, then meat sauce, and then cheddar cheese, repeat layering. Bake until cheese is melted and bubbly. Serve 6-8.

Notes

Variation – Can use tortilla chips or hard taco shells instead of noodles. Omit sour cream and cottage cheese if desired.
