Ingredients

1Cupshortening
1Cupsugar
2 eggs
1Teaspoonvanilla
2Teaspoonbaking powder
2 1⁄4Cupflour (if using whole-wheat flour, add 1/2 tsp. salt)

Instructions

Cream shortening and sugar, add eggs and beat well. Add vanilla. Sift baking powder and flour and blend with other mixture. Do not use mixer after adding flour. Form into small balls and mash slightly. bake 350 for 15 minutes.
