Onion, Cheese & Pecan Crackers

Description

Crunchy and savory, these crackers are great during the Days of Unleavened Bread or anytime of the year.

Ingredients

24Ouncecheddar cheese (mild)
1 1⁄2Cupbutter (soften)
1Teaspoonsalt
3Tablespoonminced dried onion (or 1 large fresh Spanish onion, chopped)
1 1⁄2Cuppecans (chopped)
3Cupflour (whole wheat)
3⁄4Teaspoonpaprika
3⁄4Teaspoonpepper

Instructions

 

  • Cream the butter till soft,
  • then add the rest of the ingredients.
  • Mix well and form into 3 rolls approximately 2 inches in diameter.
  • Chill in refrigerator.
  • When ready to bake, slice into 1/8- to ¼-inch slices.
  • Place on slightly-greased cookie sheet and bake at 350 degrees for 10-12 minutes or until lightly browned around the edges.
  • Remove from sheet and cool on wire rack. Makes about 6 dozen.
