Oats in the form of sweet cookies...can you get a better form?

| 1 | Cup | flour |
| 1⁄2 | Teaspoon | soda |
| 1⁄4 | Teaspoon | salt |
| 2 | Cup | rolled oats (finely ground) |
| 1 | Cup | chopped coconut |
| 1⁄2 | Cup | sugar |
| 1 | egg | |
| 1⁄4 | Cup | evaporated milk |
| 1 | Teaspoon | vanilla |
| 1⁄2 | Cup | shortening |
Sift dry ingredients together, grind oats and add coconut. Cream shortening and sugar. Add egg and beat well. Mix milk and vanilla. Add dry ingredients alternately with milk and vanilla. Mix thoroughly. Form into rolls, wrap in wax paper, and chill over night in refridgerator. Slice 1/8 inch thick, place on greased cookie sheet, and bake at 400 for 12 minutes.
