Sweet flaked coconut and tender chopped nuts are the basis of this delicious dessert bar.

Ingredients

1 1⁄3Cupflour
3⁄4Cupbrown sugar
3⁄4Cupbutter
3⁄4Teaspoonsalt
4Teaspoonvanilla
2Cupflaked coconut
1Cupnuts (chopped)
2Tablespoonflour
1Cupbrown sugar
3 eggs
3⁄4Teaspoonsalt

Instructions

Crust:

Mix flour and sugar. Cut into butter until fine crumbs form. Pat into 13 x 9 pan. Bake in preheated oven at 350° for 20 minutes.

Filling:

Beat eggs, salt, and vanilla together. Mix together flour and brown sugar in separate bowl. Add coconut and nuts. Then add to egg mixture and stir well. Spread over baked crust. Return to oven and bake for 25 minutes. Let cool and cut into bars. Store tightly with wax paper between layers.
