According to one recent poll, "Nine out of ten people [in the United Kingdom] believe that the social fabric of Britain is under threat because of family breakdown and rising crime" (The Daily Mail). Britain is following the same tragic path as all other Western nations. Basic values and standards are gradually being subverted on many levels. What can be done about it?
Teens and young people who start alcohol or drug dependencies early on have a much harder time breaking the cycle of addiction. Almost half of regular drinkers who start before age 14 will become alcoholics.
Abuse of alcohol is a threat to more than just one's physical health. It is equally a threat to one's spiritual health. And it clearly has serious consequences for students who choose to mix frequent and excessive alcohol consumption with their education.
