But making the comparison yields both parallels and paradoxes, and it may predict a colossal confrontation in the making.

"Don’t fight for a dying regime!" This was the advice of President Bush to the Iraqi people and soldiers just before the Iraq war began. Baghdad seems to have finally been freed from Saddam Hussein’s grip. His regime and brutal rule appear almost over. As life goes on and the U.S. military tries to sort out the next government and prevent anarchy and civil war, questions remain.
