The seven annual sacred festivals commanded in the Bible portray the great sequential events in God's master plan for mankind's salvation. They all are thoroughly explained in two important booklets that we offer free of charge: Holidays or Holy Days: Does It Matter Which Days We Observe? and God's Holy Day Plan: The Promise of Hope for All Mankind .

Of the seven festivals, the highlight of each year is when God's people enjoy the seven-day Feast of Tabernacles that pictures the coming Millennium.

“You shall observe the Feast of Tabernacles seven days…And you shall rejoice in your feast . . . Seven days you shall keep a sacred feast to the Lord” (Deuteronomy 16:13-15 Deuteronomy 16:13-15 13 You shall observe the feast of tabernacles seven days, after that you have gathered in your corn and your wine: 14 And you shall rejoice in your feast, you, and your son, and your daughter, and your manservant, and your maidservant, and the Levite, the stranger, and the fatherless, and the widow, that are within your gates. 15 Seven days shall you keep a solemn feast to the LORD your God in the place which the LORD shall choose: because the LORD your God shall bless you in all your increase, and in all the works of your hands, therefore you shall surely rejoice.
American King James Version×
).

In Exodus 23:16 Exodus 23:16And the feast of harvest, the first fruits of your labors, which you have sown in the field: and the feast of ingathering, which is in the end of the year, when you have gathered in your labors out of the field.
American King James Version×
it is called “the Feast of Ingathering” because it celebrates each year's autumn harvest (in the northern hemisphere). More importantly, it celebrates the great spiritual harvest that will take place during the Millennium as millions upon millions of people come to understand God's truth and have the opportunity to receive His gift of salvation!

During the Millennium there will be great emphasis on keeping the Feast of Tabernacles and using that time to come to Jerusalem to worship: “And it shall come to pass that everyone who is left of all the nations which came against Jerusalem shall go up from year to year to worship the King, the Lord of hosts, and to keep the Feast of Tabernacles” (Zechariah 14:16 Zechariah 14:16And it shall come to pass, that every one that is left of all the nations which came against Jerusalem shall even go up from year to year to worship the King, the LORD of hosts, and to keep the feast of tabernacles.
American King James Version×
).

Next is a description of “the punishment of all the nations that do not come up to keep the Feast of Tabernacles” (verses 17-19). Christ will insist that everyone keeps this all-important Feast! It will be a wonderful time of learning as well as a joyful celebration. GN

I would like to see any references in the Bible that prove the F.O.Tabernacles pictures the Millennium. Thanks

Duane, if you read the context of Zechariah 14:16-19 Zechariah 14:16-19 16 And it shall come to pass, that every one that is left of all the nations which came against Jerusalem shall even go up from year to year to worship the King, the LORD of hosts, and to keep the feast of tabernacles. 17 And it shall be, that whoever will not come up of all the families of the earth to Jerusalem to worship the King, the LORD of hosts, even on them shall be no rain. 18 And if the family of Egypt go not up, and come not, that have no rain; there shall be the plague, with which the LORD will smite the heathen that come not up to keep the feast of tabernacles. 19 This shall be the punishment of Egypt, and the punishment of all nations that come not up to keep the feast of tabernacles.

(the verses quoted in the article above), you will find evidence of the time setting referred to. The earlier verses in this chapter show the return of Jesus Christ to this earth, and the monumental battle that will take place before He finally conquers the nations and sets up His kingdom of peace on this earth. The Feast of Tabernacles was and is observed to point to, and give us a foretaste of, the millennial period - the 1000-year period of peace, cooperation, and physical health and abundance (Isaiah 25:6-9 Isaiah 25:6-9 6 And in this mountain shall the LORD of hosts make to all people a feast of fat things, a feast of wines on the lees, of fat things full of marrow, of wines on the lees well refined. 7 And he will destroy in this mountain the face of the covering cast over all people, and the veil that is spread over all nations. 8 He will swallow up death in victory; and the Lord GOD will wipe away tears from off all faces; and the rebuke of his people shall he take away from off all the earth: for the LORD has spoken it. 9 And it shall be said in that day, See, this is our God; we have waited for him, and he will save us: this is the LORD; we have waited for him, we will be glad and rejoice in his salvation.
    American King James Version×
; Revelation 20:6 Revelation 20:6Blessed and holy is he that has part in the first resurrection: on such the second death has no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.
    American King James Version×
) in addition to spiritual harmony and walking with our Creator (Isaiah 2:1-5 Isaiah 2:1-5 1 The word that Isaiah the son of Amoz saw concerning Judah and Jerusalem. 2 And it shall come to pass in the last days, that the mountain of the LORD’s house shall be established in the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills; and all nations shall flow to it. 3 And many people shall go and say, Come you, and let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem. 4 And he shall judge among the nations, and shall rebuke many people: and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruning hooks: nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more. 5 O house of Jacob, come you, and let us walk in the light of the LORD.
    American King James Version×
). People will still be keeping this and all God’s Feast days in the Millennium (Isaiah 66:23 Isaiah 66:23And it shall come to pass, that from one new moon to another, and from one sabbath to another, shall all flesh come to worship before me, said the LORD.
    American King James Version×
). The difference is that what was once a prophecy/foretaste will actually be reality during this time.

I love that! We are almost finished reading the OLd Testament together as a family and I wondered if the fulfillment of the Tabernacle was fulfilled in the millennial reign of Jesus and there we read it this morning in Zechariah. So cool! Thanks for the post.
