There is probably no greater example of the truth to this statement than the one found in the life of Jesus Christ. His suffering and death was a bitter point in His life, but the result was the opening of a personal relationship with humans who repented and accepted His gift of sacrifice and God the Father.

The payment for the sins of all who believe made possible the completion of God's plan to expand His family and to add children who were to inherit all He has created. That future is for us to be shared with Jesus Christ as brothers forever (Romans 8:16-17, Romans 8:29). Remembering that bitter moment of Christ's death is sweet due to the result. Sometimes life leads us through stress, but looking back we treasure the experience and the lessons learned. They can be sweet memories.
