In this world, people do not hesitate to use others to gain something for themselves.
That is not to say there are not righteous people on this earth, because there truly are. “Every man cannot be the best; but every man can be his best,” someone once wrote. The truth of these words is apparent. Not all humans are created equal in terms of physical ability. Some are bigger, faster, smarter and more handsome. That simply is a fact of life. It does not matter who is best; it does matter that we respect the effort of each person if they expend the same amount of effort—as Christ said, you should love our neighbor as yourself (Matthew 22:39And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

Jesus has no problem in being subject to the Father for eternity (1 Corinthians 15:28And when all things shall be subdued unto him, then shall the Son also himself be subject unto him that put all things under him, that God may be all in all.
See All...). Jesus is the best He can be in this case. We too are subject to some. We are told to honor our parents in the Ten Commandments (Exodus 20:12Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee.
See All...). Our parents, elders, teachers and others surpass us in knowledge, experience, wisdom and various abilities. Mozart was a better composer, Shakespeare was a better writer and Wayne Gretzky was a better hockey player. We cannot always be the best, but when we put our personal best effort forth we succeed.
Who is best is decided by the one who is the best he or she can be.
Being sensitive towards others has been a topic of discussion for me this past week. It wasn’t intentional, yet this idea kept reoccurring in almost every conversation I’ve had. Sometimes when the topic of offending others comes up, it’s from the perspective that people should not be easily offended. That is right and important, but today consider the other side.
