Some are gifted to teach; some force themselves. Some teach willingly and some of necessity. Those who teach willingly are by far the most loved and innovative. We all need teachers. Since students differ so greatly, teachers have a huge challenge to reach the minds of those they work with. On the spiritual level, we are cautioned that not all are to be teachers, because the responsibility is great on them (James 3:1).

Arlen Price once wrote, "Where the heart is willing, it will find a thousand ways; but where it is unwilling, it will find a thousand excuses." There is much wisdom in those words. Perhaps that is the reason God seeks willing followers (2 Corinthians 8:12).

He did not immediately create humans as eternal beings. He first develops their character and nature so that they will forever be in obedience to Him and His good ways. Only God has the truth. We are to knock and seek—not make excuses for failure.
