LettersNew Covenant Book I wanted to thank you for the book you sent me on the New Covenant. It has answered a lot of my questions. I am enclosing a gift to help with postage and printing so others may receive the book and get the blessing that I received when reading it. May God bless you in your work, getting a message of hope to a dying world. —Georgia ---------------- "Opened My Eyes" I received your booklet What Happens After Death? I have only read a few pages, but it has opened my eyes to what death really is. Thank you so much for this booklet. I hope to receive many more. Keep up the good work. —Virginia ---------------- Power of Prayer I'm 67 years old, and one year ago I had a heart attack, went to emergency and was quickly admitted to the hospital with heart failure, four clogged arteries to the heart, leaky valves in my heart and my heart functioning at 10 percent. Doctors said nothing could be done, to go home and they would make me as comfortable as possible. My pastor, Richard Thompson, anointed me twice and brethren and family prayed for me. Then a surgeon came into my room and said, "I'll do the operation, but it doesn't look good. You could have a heart attack or a stroke and die." However, he said he and his assistants believed in prayer, and if I didn't mind, he would like to pray. He asked God to guide them and gave God the credit and acknowledged that they were the human instruments used. One year later my doctor has said, "Everything is perfect. You have the vitals of a teenager." I'm off more and more medication. I thank our Heavenly Father God who intervened. I thank Him and praise Him daily. —Richard Hosier ---------------- "Full of Spiritual and Current Affairs Knowledge" Again greetings and God bless you from Pakistan Christian Community. It's always wonderful to find The Good News magazine in our office. [It is] always full of spiritual and current affairs knowledge. Please do spread the education of the Holy Bible to all over the world—that you are already doing—with the spirit to fight with evil and anti-Christ power. —Pakistan ---------------- Saw It on YouTube I watched the Beyond Today segment you did on depression (on YouTube). It was very timely. —Indiana ---------------- Religious Studies Director Loves Bible Study Course I have been reading your Bible Study Course and some of your other literature, but, a while ago, when I moved, somehow the BSC did not get my forwarding address. I have not yet received numbers 9-12, and would really be interested in receiving them via postal mail, as I keep them for reference, and have them available if any other interested Bible students want to take a look and pursue the course. I really love the literature your church produces, and would also be interested in finding out about any local branches. Thanks so much! —Washington ---------------- "Directly From the Word of God" Most of all I wish to thank you all with all my heart for your dedicatedness and boldness in proclaiming the "Good News" through the world with great success. Recently I got down some end-time prophecy booklets, and I should say that they are really amazing. I learned a lot of future events from those magazines. The one thing that really excites me is that all your magazines and books are directly from the Word of God, since today we live in a world where there are many books on end times, which are written based on what man thinks about what God would do before the return of our Lord Jesus Christ. But your magazines and books are so biblical in details, that all mankind could read and know the truth. —Sri Lanka ---------------- "Thought We Were the Only People" I found your Web site during my research on Easter. I was very surprised to find that a lot of the things I read are truths I was taught from my dad for most of my life. I honestly thought we were the only people in the world that held these truths. I want to know more about United Church of God. Please send me as much information as you can. —Tennessee ---------------- "So Excited and Grateful" I am homeschooling my grandchildren. Your books are awesome. I have learned so much reading this Bible-based literature! I am so excited and grateful to be able to receive this teaching. —Colorado ---------------- Looking for a United Congregation I am a Good News subscriber and have truly been blessed by receiving your magazine. I was wondering if you could help me find a United Church of God in my home town or local area? I haven't been successful finding a church that supports my personal convictions and beliefs. God laid it on my heart over 10 years ago not to participate in Halloween, and I stopped. My family and friends thought I was in a cult for that decision. I do celebrate Easter from the perspective of the burial and resurrection of Jesus and Christmas for the birth of Jesus. I am totally against the Easter Bunny, and I believe Christmas celebrates everything but the birth of Christ. After receiving your magazine, I have been praying that God would show me which holidays to observe. If you can help me find a church in my area that teaches the Bible and observes Holy Days, I would be grateful. —Kentucky ---------------- "Pleasantly Surprised by the Biblical Accuracy" I just recently started receiving The Good News magazine, and I was pleasantly surprised by the biblical accuracy of the articles. I am currently not attending church because I have been unable to find a church anywhere that sticks to the Word of God alone and not to their own false teachings. I've wanted to be baptized for a very long time, but have been unable to find a place where I could honestly feel good about being baptized there. Baptism is a sacred event that I would like performed for me in a house of worship that I feel God would approve of. I pray that I have finally found a place of worship where I can feel at "home." I'm still in the process of trying to find a congregation in my area. I pray that more people will have the opportunity to read truthful and accurate literature promoting God's Word such as this magazine. —Illinois ---------------- "I Knew the Scriptures Must Be True!" I discovered your Web site quite "by chance" (thank you, Lord) and found the complete answer to a question that I have agonized over for a long time—the question of the three days and three nights of Jesus in the grave. I now understand just how it was! Thank you so much. I'm so excited, as all the other explanations I've been given never satisfied me! I knew the Scriptures must be true! —Internet ---------------- Gospel in Its Fullness I am very glad to be a Good News subscriber. I have been a subscriber for over five years, and your outstanding magazine has blessed my life in a host of ways. This magazine covers a lot of ground; it presents the gospel of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in its fullness and entirety. By reading your magazine, I acquire marvelous insights and also a thorough, in-depth understanding of God's Word. I pray to the Lord that you may continue to reach out to more and more people in all ends of the earth. It surely is an awe-inspiring magazine. I always set aside a little time every day to go over all the Good News magazines I have kept since I became a subscriber. God bless you always in all ways! —Brazil ---------------- Biblical Holy Days I was saved by the Lord in 2004 when I was 60 years old, and I diligently try to walk the path of Jesus. I have already changed from Sunday to the correct Saturday Sabbath, took off my earrings and my crucifix around my neck. I also just know that I want to keep God's Holy Days to set me free. Luckily I came across your article and saved it on my computer. Please, I want to know the correct dates to commemorate the Holy Feast Days. I really want to live according to our Father's will. —Internet ---------------- Hot Off the Presses Note: Recently we reprinted our Holidays or Holy Days booklet, and a new customer service representative was handling the job while our normal person was on vacation. Right after the booklet was printed, Scott Ashley, managing editor of booklets, received this note from her: Holidays or Holy Days shipped last night, and I believe is to be delivered today or Monday. I looked it over after binding and can't wait to finish reading it. I have heard some of the points that were brought out, but have never actually read the history of some of our holidays. I was astounded. I have thoroughly enjoyed working with you on your publications. —Mississippi ---------------- Thankful in Vietnam Thanks a lot for your past booklets. May God bless you all. I am so sorry because I now change my address. Please send your gifts to this address. Again, I thank you very much for your support. I hope I will receive your booklets soon, because they have helped me to learn a lot of useful things. —Vietnam ---------------- Understanding God's Plan in Kuwait Praise the Lord! Thank God and your Church for sending me the free books and Bible lessons. The books and the Bible lessons helped me a lot to understand God the Father and Jesus Christ and their plan for my life. May God bless your Church and ministry abundantly. —Kuwait ---------------- Became Wild Wanting More I absolutely want to first and foremost thank you for producing these magazines. I was just surfing the Web looking for articles to digest, when I came across this lovely piece, The Good News. When I first read the November-December 2006 edition, I became as wild as a dog wanting to engulf more of this teaching. I just love reading and meditating on the issues of the Middle Eastern crisis, nations acquiring nukes and the articles for teens. Thank you once again, and please send my appreciation to those who have voluntarily donated money to the spread of this lovely magazine. I look forward to you putting me on the subscription list for the Vertical Thought magazine. —Nigeria ---------------- "Remaining Faithful When the Heat Is On" I love your magazine! I agree fully on your stand to keep only the days [listed] in the Bible and not the ones man made. I am so glad you are remaining faithful when the heat is on. You have plenty of others there with you. My friends in church have watched me in my "Jewish" walk and are not happy and are constantly "attacking" me. It will all be worth it when we celebrate in eternity! Keep up the great work. —Internet ---------------- "You Are That Message of Hope" I wish there was more that I could say, but "thanks" pretty much sums up my feelings, desire, longing, appreciation and joy. Thanks for the good news, thanks for the spiritual encouragement and thanks for embodiment of God's Spirit in your work. Sometimes when in the wilderness, it is easy to forget the blessing and the miracles of God's powerful hand, which sustains our presence and our joy. It is so easy to keep one's head down and go through the motions of making ends meet, that one forgets. That is when God sends a message of hope, to reinforce His plan to remind us we are not alone and that He is working His miracles every day. You are that message of hope. Sustain that. —Internet ---------------- Muslim Desperately Waiting for Jesus I thank you for placing my name on the mailing list for The Good News magazine. I received and read the first one (March-April 2007) from cover to cover, with interest, and found it extremely informative. Please may I have a free copy of The Book of Revelation Unveiled? A cheque for £25 (though meagre) is enclosed. I wish you the best in the work you are doing. I am not a Christian. I am a Muslim, an infidel! But I am desperately waiting for Jesus like many other Muslims and Christians, and like yourself. —England ---------------- Vertical Thought Thank you for sending me my first issue of Vertical Thought magazine. A teacher of mine introduced this magazine, and I have been reading it from her copies since. It has given me answers to questions about life and has somehow built up my personality. Now that I have my own copy, I will be able to share it with my younger siblings and friends as well. —Philippines ----------------
