Online Ad Impressions SkyrocketOver the past few months, United's online advertising impressions shown on Yahoo- and Google-sponsored Web sites has skyrocketed! The accompanying graph shows ad impressions for November of the past four years. We see an increase of more than 1,400 percent from 2006 to 2007! The primary reason for the sudden increase is advertising our booklet Who Is God? This topic has proven to be very relevant for “content advertising” alongside relevant news stories and Web content on a large number of Web sites. As a result, this booklet is now one of our top titles requested this year. The month of November 2007 saw 568 million advertising impressions just at Google-sponsored sites. Each working day, online adjustments are made to our keyword bids; keywords are added or deleted; and descriptions are fine-tuned—all to ensure the United Church of God is maximizing its efficiency and response. [ back to top ] Good News Web Site Visitors Moving UpSince the inception of our Good News magazine Web site in 2004, we've seen a steady rise in the number of visitors per month. Please note the accompanying chart showing a 35 percent increase from November 2006 to November 2007. A total of 197,132 visitors were attracted to gnmagazine.org this past November. Please note, we also have more than 130,000 visitors per month at our five other official UCGIA Web sites. [ back to top ] E-Letter Subscriptions IncreaseEach month, the president sends an e-mail letter to thousands of Good News subscribers who have signed up for this electronic service. The e-letter contains news of the work of United, updates on various projects and an inspirational note. Usually, a piece of literature is also offered. Each time someone requests a piece of literature online, they are offered an e-mail subscription to four or five different updates. One of them is for our Good News readers and can be found at gnmagazine.org/gnupdate. You'll see all the updates we offer listed in the left-hand column toward the bottom of the page at ucg.org. As of the end of October we had 33,178 GN e-letter subscribers. This graph shows the subscription increases over just the past 18 months. [ back to top ] Magazine Print Advertising ResultsYou may recall that magazine space advertising was taken out in April and May of 2007 using some of the additional income that the Church was blessed to receive during the 2006-2007 fiscal year. More than a thousand responses are still coming in each month. So far, Reader's Digest has brought in 34,834 responses to our full-page ad for The Middle East in Bible Prophecy booklet. American Baby has produced 12,248 responses to our Marriage and Family: The Missing Dimension booklet, and Parents has brought in 6,022 responses to the same marriage and family booklet. The total of 53,104 is above our initial response projections. We're very happy to have these requests for both the booklet offered and a Good News magazine subscription. During this 2007-2008 fiscal year, advertising is underway once again in both Parents and American Baby magazines. We'll keep you updated. —Peter Eddington [ back to top ]
