There are some very interesting laws that are still on the books. Did you know that in one state, it is illegal to set a mousetrap without a hunting license? There's another that says unless you have a doctor's note, it's illegal to buy ice cream after 6 p.m.

Some of these crazy laws make you wonder how they were ever enacted. Why would an area have a law banning children from purchasing a toy cap gun but it is legal for them to buy a shotgun!

Some laws certainly seem to be senseless. Imagine living in a town where it's unlawful to kiss your wife on Sunday. Or this humorous one from my home state, it's against the law to tease a skunk.

Imagine being approached with this odd one:

That is silly.  Now on the other hand, can you imagine keeping the most beneficial, the most sensible, the most essential law of all?  There would be no need for goofy rules and regulations. So what is it? It's the law of God. God's commandments are still found "on the books"—the books of the Bible.

His law is not meaningless but still applies right now.  It may sound odd or outdated to you, but God's law is actually high-tech and points the way to a prosperous, meaningful life. Jesus said that He came so that we might have life and have it more abundantly. This becomes possible through the commandments of God.

You see, God's way is not like the useless, peculiar civil laws still on the books. But instead, if you look into them, you'll find His laws are valid. Do you know them?  They're relevant and meaningful for your life today and will never become outdated. Be sure to take time to learn the value of God's law.
