According to the latest research, the Internet shows no evidence of time travelers. No surprise there.

Researchers from the Michigan Technological University, fascinated by the idea of time travel, decided to scour the Internet for evidence that anyone, in the past decade or so, may have commented on or predicted the Comet ISON or the selection of Pope Francis. The result was a solid, “No,” (Victoria Woollaston, “ ‘Time Travellers Don’t Exist on the Internet’: Researchers Spend Months Scanning the Web for Voyagers From the Future – But Find Nothing,” Daily Mail at DailyMail.co.uk, January 3, 2014).

Prophetic predictions?

So, can people really know future events before they happen? Logically, the answer seems like it should be in the negative. Clearly, the Internet provides no evidence of such things, but what about a more reliable source than the Internet?

God is all powerful and all knowing, and He inspired many of the biblical writers to predict future events. These prophecies, more than mere decades, are thousands of years old and predicted events that were subsequently fulfilled, and still more that are yet to occur.

The predicted birth and death of Jesus Christ is a prime example. Also the coming of a great Persian king who would free the captive remnant of the tribe of Judah to return to Jerusalem in 538 B.C. was written down more than 140 years earlier, by the prophet Isaiah (Isaiah 44:28).

Perhaps the most astounding predictions of the future in the Bible come in the final chapters of the book of Daniel and in the book of Revelation. They prophecy a series of events and times of distress that will precede the second coming of Jesus Christ.

These predictions, inspired by God, will happen. To learn more about how they apply in light of history, please read You Can Understand Bible Prophecy.

You may not be able to time travel, but you can certainly anticipate the future!
