A recent Beyond Today program prompted a different response from a viewer.

Transcript

[Gary Petty] A number of months ago we did a Beyond Today program called "The Stuff of Dreams" and recently got an email from a person who said that after watching that program, she decided to - what she called - de-stuff her life. And she went into her attic and she cleaned out all of these things and said the clutter was just driving her crazy and how much it meant to her to de-clutter her life. Well, there's a good point in that and a good lesson in that. We need to de-clutter our lives both by getting rid of stuff we don't need. We need to learn to start de-cluttering our minds also.

[Darris McNeely] It's amazing what we do accumulate. The "stuff" that was in the title of Gary's program was talking about other things, but the viewer in this case took another very valid point from this that our lives get cluttered with a lot of baggage - emotional, spiritual baggage, even things that can even clutter up our lives. And periodically it's good just to take an inventory, clean things out physically and even spiritually - God's Word, God's Holy Days even build that into them in a way that's very interesting. But to be able to do that can be a very therapeutic and beneficial step in our life to get ourselves de-cluttered and right with God.

[Gary Petty] So I'd like to encourage all of you to set aside some time, get a day off and de-clutter your house, de-clutter your garage, de-clutter your attic, get things out of your life that you don't need. And then start thinking about how can I do that every day in my life? The most important thing you can do is take time for prayer and meditation on God's way, on what's positive in life instead of what's negative, and learn to de-clutter your mind. That's today's BT Daily. Join us again tomorrow.
