God tells us what to do when we feel like we are up against the wall.

Transcript

[Steve Myers] Do you ever feel that you are just locked into a difficult situation where there's no way out? That's exactly what happened to the Israelites as they were coming out of Egypt. They were up against the wall of the Red Sea with nowhere to go. And yet, as they were trapped, God was showing them, the situation is never hopeless when He's on our side.

Moses told the people something interesting in Exodus 14:13, notice what Moses says to the people. He says, "Do not be afraid. Stand still and see the salvation of the Lord." So Moses gives his advice to the people to look to God. That's good advice, but it's interesting, what God tells the people just a verse or so later. Notice what God says to Moses in verse 15. He says, "Why do you cry to me? Tell the children of Israel to go forward." (Exodus 14:13-15)

Now, when we face challenges in life, when we are in those situations where it seems we are up against the wall, there is no way out, we recognize we've got to look to God, but we can't just stand still. We've got to go forward. We have to do our part. We have to trust and rely on God to make a way. But then we've got to do the action of walking through that opening that God promises to give us. So let's take this to heart. When we're up against it, when we have those challenges that seem like we're in this hopeless situation, remember to turn to God. Take action. God tells us, "Go forward."

That's BT Daily. We'll see you next time.
