If we cry out to God, He will respond to our needs.

[Steve Myers] Immediately. Sometimes we procrastinate. But, you know, God is not like that at all. And it really jumped out at me at a story that's probably familiar to all of us, that I really hadn't noticed before. It's the story of Christ coming to the disciples in the boat. And you know the story.  Peter says, "Christ, if that's you out there standing on the water, tell me to come to you." And what does Peter do? He gets out of the boat. We know the story, he begins to look around and he begins to go down. And in Matthew 14:31, it tells us the story of that. It says in verse 30 that Peter began to sink. And he cried out, "Lord, save me."  Now, here's the amazing part. Scripture says, "Immediately, Jesus stretched out His hand and caught him." Of course, we remember the part where Christ says, "O you of little faith." But the immediately part is the word that really struck me. Some translations say instantly. You see, God's not like us. He doesn't wait. He doesn't procrastinate. When we cry out to Him, immediately, He reacts. No delay. Quickly, He steps in without a bit of hesitation, and He grabs us and hangs onto us. He catches us. What a great example for us. When we feel life is overwhelming, when we may feel we're sinking in the ocean, cry out to God. Call out to Him. Repent and change. And what will God do? I think He'll do the same thing He did with Peter. Immediately, He'll intervene and help us. That's BT Daily. We'll see you next time.
