God's Word reveals how Christians are justified.

Transcript

[Steve Myers] Justification is a big word with a big meaning. All too often, people turn to God and they'll say, "Well, I've accepted Jesus in my heart and so I'm justified." Or, "I'm made right with God, and now everything's cool. I don't have to worry about my behavior. I don't have to worry about anything else."

But when you really look at what justification is all about, yes, it's about being declared righteous or being forgiven of your sin. It definitely means being acquitted so that we're not held guilty, but it's also about being brought into a right relationship with God. And when you're brought into a right relationship with God, what is our response to that? Does that mean our job is over? Or does it really mean it's just begun? Because once we are justified, we have to walk in righteousness.

In Romans 2, it says a lot about this very fact. So when you notice Romans 2:13, it tells us this. "Not the hearers of the law are just in the sight of God, but the doers of the law will be justified." And so we have this beautiful balance, that we can go to God and ask for forgiveness and we can be made right. We can be acquitted of sin and pardoned, but we must then walk in righteousness and do justly because it's the doers of the law that are just in His sight.

So put this into practice. Be a doer.
