MICE was an old acronym to describe the motivation of spies. What's our motivation?

Transcript

[Steve Myers] Have you got MICE in your life? I was reading an old article about spies during the Cold War. And they used this acronym, MICE, to describe what their motivation was.

Now, you know what MICE stands for, what those spies were motivated by?

Number one, money. Mice, money, M. I was ideology, you know, what their perspective was, what their thinking was. C was compromise. And E was ego. And those four things described what spies were motivated by during the Cold War.

As so I couldn't help but ask myself that question. What motivates me? And as a Christian, what should motivate all of us?

We better not have MICE in our life if we claim to be Christians. We better have Hebrews 10:24 in mind instead. Over here in Hebrews 10:24 it says, "Let us consider one another to stir up love and good works."

So when you talk about motivation, it better not be MICE. The motivation for a Christian has to be based on love and good works. That's what's got to motivate us. So, what should we do? Get the MICE out of our life.

That's BT Daily. We'll see you next time.
