[Steve Myers] You've probably been bothered by this, in fact, it is the number one complaint that comes to the FCC, the Federal Communications Commission. What is it? Robocalls. What in the world is a robocall? You've probably gotten them, these calls that seem to come out of nowhere. In fact, you look at this number and it looks like, "Well, this is from my area code. This might be somebody I know." And you answer it and it's a robot, or you answer it and it's some computer, or you don't even get an answer, there's nobody there. And yet then they take your number, recognizing this is a live number. They're gonna call you later, perhaps with a sales call or other scam that might be going on. Sometimes they call that spoofing because they spoof you into thinking this might be a legitimate call, and after all this they're just trying to take advantage of people and use people. 

And, as I thought about this whole thing, I get them all the time, and it is such an interesting reminder when you think of the way these demonic forces work against us. They're kind of like robocalls. There's a passage in Ephesians 2:2 that describes Satan himself. And in Ephesians 2:2 it describes him as the prince of the power of the air. You can't see it, you may not even be aware of it, but there it is. It's like these calls that appear out of nowhere and try to take advantage of you, try to catch you off-guard, try to get you to press one of those numbers on your phone so they can get access to your information. 

Well, don't fall for that, be aware of it. Like these spoof calls that you may get, have it be a reminder that there are evil forces around us that want to deceive us, that want to take advantage of us, that would love to spoof us into falling for their evil plans. So, the next time you get a robocall remember the way those demonic forces work against us. They're gonna hit us from every angle, they never give up, they keep coming at you all the time. So be on your guard, stay close to God, and you won't have to worry about those robocalls.
