[Steve Myers] In Hebrews 6:1, this section of scripture talks about growing to the next level when it comes to our doctrinal understanding. It talks about that we should go on past the fundamentals. It talks about repentance, and it talks about baptism and laying on of hands. And the other day, as I was reading this particular passage, it came to mind that this not only applies to doctrine and striving to understand deeper spiritual things and applying them in our lives.

Personally, sometimes, you know, you get a feeling that, "Well, I've come so far." And yet, Hebrews 6:1 even speaks to that because it begins by saying, "Leave the discussion of the elementary principles of Christ." In other words, take things to the next level. Let's go on. That, in other words, you can change, and because you've changed so much doesn't mean the process has stopped. So, in other words, if you can change, why not change?

Even though we've understood God's way and we've come so far, Paul, in a sense, is pushing us to say, "Let's continue to go on. Let's take that next step. Let's do the next thing to change to be more Christ-like individuals. Let's put it to practice in every area of our life. Let's really strive to be Christ-like and go on to perfection."

And so, this is just a great admonition for all of us. Maybe you wake up one day and you're lacking some motivation. Think of Hebrews 6:1. Let's take it to the next level. Let's go on past the elementary. Let's move on and take it to the college level of spirituality. And when we do that, certainly, blessings will follow.
