Here's a section of scripture that identifies what God's plan is all about.

[Steve Myers] If you've ever looked for a section of scripture that really identifies what God's plan is all about, there is a little concise section of scripture that really gets right down to the heart of the matter, really quickly. It's found over in the book of Ephesians. Ephesians chapter 3 identifies, I think, so very plainly, what God is doing, what His plan is, and how it involves you. And sometimes, maybe we're trying to grope around to find, well, this scripture says a little bit about what God's doing, and this section talks a little bit – but if you look to Ephesians 3, it gets down right to the heart of the matter very quickly.

If you notice, Ephesians chapter 3, right around verse 8 is where the apostle Paul starts describing what God's plan is all about. He says, "I should preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ." What about these unsearchable riches? He goes on – he says, "I want to make all see the fellowship of the mystery." Well yeah, how do I explain what God's doing? What is this mystery? What is this plan all about? Well, he goes on. Verse 11, he talks about the eternal purpose which he accomplished in Christ Jesus our Lord. Boy, that's what I'm interested – what is God's purpose? What is His plan? How can I explain it? Well, he goes on and he says this in verse 14 – verse 14, he says, "I bow my knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ", and verse 15, "from whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named." Now we get down to it. The plan is a family plan. God is creating a family. The whole family in heaven and earth – that would include you and I, as well as His created beings – named after the Father. The Father is creating a family. And in fact, if we skip down then to verse 19, it describes how awesome this family will be. He goes on, describing the width, and the length, and the depth, and the height of what this plan is all about. And he says, "To know the love of Christ, which passes knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fullness of God" (Ephesians 3:8-19).

God's family plan is that you and I become full-fledged members of His spiritual family – that we, then, would become filled – it says filled – with the fullness of God. We'll be in the God family. That's God's purpose. That's God's plan. Ephesians chapter 3 maps it out so very clearly, it's exciting to think about the wonderful potential that all human beings have, as we submit ourselves to the Father and His family plan.

That's BT Daily. We'll see you next time.
