Work, school, meals, errands, TV. Sound familiar? Does some combination of this sound like your every day? When your head hits the pillow do you feel fulfilled? Accomplished? Where does that leave you at the end of your life? Suppose you have a great life, happy marriage, and you buy all the toys you ever could want. Then what? What is your end-game accomplishment? Is that it? What happens next?

If you don’t have a relationship with God, or you don’t even believe in Him, what does all of the activity of life really amount to? What kind of meaning do you pass on to your children?

Think about it. Really think about your life and what it really means. Are you completely fulfilled? Do you live a life of certainty or are there doubts that you avoid?

God wants you to live a way of life that few people are willing to try. “The Bible is has archaic principles that no one can live by,” I've heard people say. Try it. Open your Bible. Start with Matthew 5 and read the Sermon on the Mount. Then live it. Read the Ten Commandments and live by them. And don’t justify skipping the fourth one; it’s a commanded rest that will benefit you. You will see a changed life if you do so. You will see that Satan has distracted you into thinking that God will approve of you no matter how you live. In reality, you've missed something vitally important. There is a deeper meaning for our existence that you can’t imagine. The apostle Paul wrote, "Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor have entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for those who love Him" (1 Corinthians 2:9).

Jesus said, “If you love me, keep my commandments.” Don't look at God's commandments as merely rules and boundaries. His commandments are established to safeguard your life from pain and suffering. I don’t tell my daughter not to bang on a glass door because I want to hinder her existence. I want to protect it. God knows better than you or I what is in our best interests. Don’t doubt that. Give His way of life a try, and you will see a remarkable change in your life.
