Do you ever feel like you have no purpose? Or maybe you feel like you just haven’t found your purpose yet.
If you’re willing to listen to what God is saying to you in the Bible, you really can get to know your purpose right now! God gave us a look into what we can look forward to if we seek Him earnestly.
That family relationship—becoming children of God the Father—is the heart and core of God’s incredible plan for mankind and for you!
This tiny glimpse into your remarkable potential will help motivate and encourage you through the trials and challenges you face in the river of this temporary life.
God wants a close relationship with each of us. Today, it can be hard to find a good example of what family should be. Families are often dysfunctional. Relationships are broken. God’s concept of a wonderful loving family is often far from our personal experience. But with God, it’s different. You have a truly loving Father—a God who wants the absolute best for you. Notice how much He wants for us:
“It has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is” (1 John 3:2 1 John 3:2Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it does not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.
American King James Version×, emphasis added). What exactly does that mean?
Here’s the remarkable truth about your purpose in life: God is producing spiritual children. And even more than that, God wants you to be in His family!
As incredible as it may seem, God wants to add you and me to His divine family. He will increase the God family, with us as His very own children! God is producing spiritual children. You don’t have to believe me—but you should believe what God reveals about it in your Bible.
God’s purpose goes far beyond the creation of mortal, physical, perishable human beings. He wants us to ultimately be a part of His spiritual family. In His Kingdom, we are to be like God—spirit members of His family.
No wonder God tells us, “I will be a Father to you, and you shall be My sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty” (2 Corinthians 6:18 2 Corinthians 6:18And will be a Father to you, and you shall be my sons and daughters, said the Lord Almighty.
American King James Version×). And He really means it! The Father wants us to be His full children, to transform us into the very kind of beings that He and Christ now are.
That family relationship—becoming children of God the Father—is the heart and core of God’s incredible plan for mankind and for you! God wants to bring you into His eternal family forever as one of His offspring.
God even tells us we can be filled with His nature: “…to know the love of Christ which surpasses knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God (Ephesians 3:19 Ephesians 3:19And to know the love of Christ, which passes knowledge, that you might be filled with all the fullness of God.
American King James Version×, Modern English Version).
What does it mean? Let’s break it down. If you’re named after God—what’s your family’s last name? It would have to be God! And the Bible says you’re named after God—meaning you’ve got to be a full-fledged member of God’s family.
Now this is your incredible purpose in life: If you’re filled up to all the fullness of God, what are you? It can only mean that you’d have to be a divine spirit being, like God, in His eternal family.
The incredible truth God wants us to understand is that we won’t be sort of, kind of, somewhat like God. Holy Scripture reveals that we will be filled with the fullness of God.
The time is now for you to understand that God is building His family. The time is now for you to realize that in the Kingdom of God you can become a literal son or daughter of God—imagine it: a full member of His spiritual family. No wonder God’s called our Father. He’s fathering His own spiritual children.
That’s why the apostle Peter says: “He has given to us exceedingly great and precious promises, so that through these things you might become partakers of the divine nature and escape the corruption that is in the world through lust” (2 Peter 1:4 2 Peter 1:4Whereby are given to us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these you might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.
American King James Version×).
